Travel Bug Bites Again - Off For A Quickie...

By Melissa - Wednesday, May 25, 2016

On a hazy night in October, it was 9pm and I had just returned home from work. I was sitting at the edge of my bed, waiting for my turn to sit under a warm shower (cheap remedy to an exhausting work day) and was expertly manoeuvring through WhatsApp chats - work stuff to check up on while chatting with friends.

I vividly remember having an impassioned conversation about the perfect lipstick shade for the season (it was the beginning of autumn) and somehow (as always), we diverged to holiday plans.

We snuffed at the first few suggestions, weeded out the more commercialised places and finally agreed on one of the most beautiful cities in Asia. Over the next few months, we scoured the web, locked down on available travel dates and booked our trip early this year.

Now, to maintain my rep as an exemplary procrastinator, please excuse me while I get to tossing all of my necessary provisions into a cabin-sized luggage and try to catch a snooze before our cab arrives at 4:30am. Yes, 4:30 in the AM.

Be back in a few with snapshots, stories and souvenirs!

P/S: Since this post looks pitifully bare without a pic, here’s a photo of the salad I made a week ago. Got on the pre-vacation clean eating train so that I can indulge when I arrive, guilt-free.
