2015 Favourites - Red Carpet Gowns At The 2015 Met Gala

By Melissa - Tuesday, May 05, 2015

The Met Gala (The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute benefit gala) is arguably one of the most stylish night of the year and it saw some of the biggest names in Hollywood decked in gowns from the most renowned fashion designers.

This year, the theme of the night was Chinese Whispers: Tales of the East in Art, Film and Fashion, so the gowns were heavily embellished with floral motifs, pops of red and touches of gold.

Here are some of my favourite gowns from last night's annual ball:

1. Jessica Chastain looked every bit of the (golden) goddess that she is in Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci and Piaget jewelry. Totally digging her old school Hollywood glamour make-up and hairdo too.

2. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley dazzled in an asymmetrical nude shimmery dress by Atelier Versace, with some serious cut-outs and a sexy thigh-grazing slit.

3. Reese Witherspoon was a ravishing siren in a red Jason Wu dress, Tiffany & Co. jewelry and Charlotte Olympia heels.

4. Kerry Washington was the belle of the ball in Prada's clove pink silk faille open-back gown with bow accented shoulders, Harry Winston jewelry, Prada clutch and sandals.

5. When in doubt, go with McQueen. Bee Shaffer was stunning perfection in Alexander McQueen's custom burgundy embroidered gown. Major love for the dainty cherry blossom and crane print on her oxblood-hued dress.

For real this time - Gonna get started on that couture gown fund and workout routine ASAP...
