AM: My day began at 2am when this golden-tongued babe (this self-professed foodie proudly declared that her taste buds are gold class and all of her food reviews are top notch) arrived at my front porch. She set out from KL for Penang after work late Friday night, and was caught in a massive traffic jam all the way.
She handed me two boxes of fruit tarts for my family and I upon arrival, and as soon as she washed up, the both of us chatted for quite a bit before falling asleep.
Noon: A few hours later, we got ready and headed out for lunch.
After a futile dress-hunting mission (we circled the island, visited several well-known boutiques but left empty-handed), we relaxed at a quaint little cafe in town.
We entered the premise and went all starry-eyed when we noticed this set-up on one of the tables...

We ordered the following to share:

Essentially cake on a pie, this charming slice was a sight to behold but less memorable when compared to the passion fruit cheesecake. |
To wash it all down, I ordered a pot of tea and my guest had a double shot latte (not pictured).
PM: Dinner, more heart-to-heart conversations and an early nightcap.

Dinner - Fish & Chips. |

Rosanne lovingly hand carried two boxes of these tarts all the way from KL for my family and I because she wanted us to have a taste of what she dubs as "the best tart in all the land". |
