Saturday (Oct 4th, 2014)

AM: My day began at 2am when this golden-tongued babe (this self-professed foodie proudly declared that her taste buds are gold class and all of her food reviews are top notch) arrived at my front porch. She set out from KL for Penang after work late Friday night, and was caught in a massive traffic jam all the way.

She handed me two boxes of fruit tarts for my family and I upon arrival, and as soon as she washed up, the both of us chatted for quite a bit before falling asleep.


Noon: A few hours later, we got ready and headed out for lunch.

Highly recommended. The cheesecake was amazingly smooth and delightfully creamy, and the passion fruit compote added just the right amount of tanginess (in place of the usual lemon extract) to the cake.

Essentially cake on a pie, this charming slice was a sight to behold but less memorable when compared to the passion fruit cheesecake.

Made with real vanilla beans, this slightly seared sugary treat was creamy, but not overbearingly so. Still, we both wished that the texture would be slightly thicker, so that we would have scooped into a bowl of vanilla lush.

Dinner - Fish & Chips.

Rosanne lovingly hand carried two boxes of these tarts all the way from KL for my family and I because she wanted us to have a taste of what she dubs as "the best tart in all the land".
