Genuine Beauty

It has been a marvelous journey, thus far.

I take time off - to let my mind wander and take a peek (every once in awhile) through the corridors of time on life, my life.

Laden before my eyes, is what I'd like to call 'a story of abundant grace and endless love'.

This world we are living in today is obssessed with outer beauty, tirelessly seeking for an elixir to sustain this beauty.

However, they missed the mark on what true beauty is.

Before I delve deeper, I will be truthful.

I love fashion and I love to dress up. I love make-up equally as much. In fact, I also love buying the lot of them!

Nothing wrong with all that, I must say.

Otherwise, I would be neck-deep in guilt and wrongdoings. *grins*

I mentioned earlier, we are in an age where the preserve of beauty takes precedence over everything else.

It is sad, as the quest for beauty does not encompass on the search for the latest innovation, whether it takes form as a cream, injection or surgery (In the end, your face would be stretched thinner than Cling Wrap, a mirror image to the shiny back of a spoon.).

Real beauty lies within each of us. It is unmistakable, as it is unique.

Let me set the record straight - Beauty is never defined by outward perfection. A far cry from the frequent declaration of that.

Real beauty is illuminated from inner purity; an unblemished, unadulterated heart.

A heart stripped off from pride, instead replaced with humility. A heart that does not harbour jealousy, but filled with joy. A heart not self-absorbed, but brimming with compassion. A heart without malice, but a heart overflowing with love.

Above all else, a beautiful woman is a woman who knows her worth in Christ Jesus.

We are created in the unique image of a God who loves us eternally, passionately and without reservation.

Just an inkling of that, the recognition of our heritage - the ultimate sacrifice performed, the palpable love, will do such a deep work within us (I'd like to call it 'spiritual surgery'), leaving us to forevermore radiate His beauty.

I'll leave you with a lovely scripture,

"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewellery and fine clothes.
Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight."

1 Peter 3:3-4 (New International Version)
