Road Trip To Bandar Baharu: Food & Nature

By Melissa - Tuesday, February 03, 2015

Seeing that today is a public holiday in Malaysia, the parentals decided to drive up to Bandar Baharu and pay a visit to a freshwater seafood restaurant that came highly recommended to us some weeks back.

Clear blue skies and scorching heat accompanied us throughout the one-hour drive.

We arrived at the location, parked our car and spotted a group of our family friends at the place as well.

The owner of the shop took our order and while my parents chatted with their friends, I ambled nearby under the blistering rays and snapped a couple of pics.

Macro shot of a dried up weed sprout.

When I could stand it no longer (and by it, I am referring to the heat), I trotted back to the restaurant and just a few minutes later, lunch was served.

Steamed Catfish.

Steamed Prawns with Glass Noodles and Ginger.

Sambal Paku-Pakis (a sort of wild fern).

Three-Flavoured Tilapia.

The food was delicious and incredibly fresh. We'll most definitely be making another trip back.
